The Shimanami Kaido very popular amoung cyclists and attracts fans from all over the world.
This is a cycling tour with a guide that covers the total length of 50 km from Onomichi to Setoda (Ikuchi Island) and Tatara Bridge that connects to Ehime Prefecture.
Experience Details
Starting from Onomichi Station, the tour will introduce recommended spots on Mukaishima and Innoshima.
The tour will then continue to the coastline of Ikuchijima and guest can enjoy the scenery as it heads for the Tatara Bridge, the world’s longest cable-stayed bridge at the time of its completion.
After crossing the bridge and taking a break at “Tatara Shimanami Park,” guest will come back to Ikuchijima where Azumi Setoda locates.
This course is designed for intermediate-level guest.
The tour will take cyclists to cafés and photo spots where they can enjoy the beauty of the many islands, not to mention the unique experience of crossing the bridges by bicycle.
For beginners, another course, “Onomichi – Setoda Cycling Tour (30km one way)” is also recommended.
(Bicycles are returned at the intended destination, so there is no need to worry about the return journey)
