Slide open the yukimi shoji, the traditional Japanese screen and the garden comes in. A generous sofa at the foot of the bed, and a Fukumitsu stone floor that stays cool in summer and warm in winter.
Up to 2 guests (Adults & Child)
Four guest rooms line a courtyard enclosed by marigaki fencing, each with its own character. Built in the sukiya-zukuri style with cedar and cypress, the spaces shift quietly with the light and air throughout the day.
All rooms come with Hollywood twin beds, arrangeable as a king upon request. End the day in a hinoki cypress bath, where the warmth and scent of the wood do the rest. The bathhouse at the neighboring yubune is also available to guests.

Step onto the balcony and the wind off Setouchi finds you. After a bath, it is a good place to stand in the night air. Inside, a generous sofa at the foot of the bed, and a Fukumitsu stone floor that stays cool in summer and warm in winter.
Up to 2 guests (Adults & Child)
A two-floor maisonette. Downstairs, a Hollywood twin bedroom. Upstairs, a traditional Japanese room with a horigotatsu, a sunken floor table where you sit with your legs below.
The second floor balcony has a wide daybed, good for reading or lying in the night air after a bath. Best for three guests, and feels more like a private villa than a hotel room.
Up to 3 guests (Adults & Child) ※Extra futons available upon request.

The trees in this garden have been here since the Horiuchi family. Alongside them, plants that feel almost tropical. The leaves change color, birds come and go, and the garden is never quite the same twice.
Some days a tea room, others a yoga studio or dining space. The space takes its shape from whatever is needed.
Directly across the street is yubune, a public bathhouse where you can also spend the night. A place for travelers to rest and locals to gather.
Soak, then settle into yuagari, the lounge with a library on Setouchi's culture and history, and a shop from the Shimanami region. A good place to let the evening slow down.
