Azumi Setoda

03.Accommodation

There are three room types in the two story guest pavilion, which is built
around a kakine-framed courtyard. Through a thoughtful blend of traditional
ryokan comforts and contemporary amenities, guests can wind down in a homey
atmosphere. Each room has a cypress bathtub. Guests may also choose to visit
our sister property, the yubune bathhouse, across the street. The rooms are
made with cedar, cypress, washi, and granite, creating comfort in this
contemporary expression of sukiya style design. All rooms have double beds,
but two can be joined to create a king size bed upon request.

Niwa

Niwa rooms have a small garden. Yukimi shoji screens, which
are designed to open vertically in order to watch snow as it
accumulates on the ground, enable the garden view to be
enjoyed from every point in the room. A sofa at the foot of the
bed functions as a place to recline, substituting the engawa of
traditional ryokans. The granite floors feel cool in the summer
and warm in the winter.

Niwa rooms are intended for two guests,
or three with additional bedding provided
upon request.

Suzumi

Situated on the second floor, Suzumi rooms have a private
balcony, which can be enjoyed from the cypress bathtub. The
cool breeze enhances a long bathe, and creates a semi-outdoors
bathing experience. A sofa at the foot of the bed functions as a
place to wind down, substituting the engawa of traditional
ryokans. The granite floors feel cool in the summer and warm
in the winter.

Suzumi rooms are intended for two guests,
or three with additional bedding provided
upon request.

Niwa-suzumi

Niwa-suzumi are two story rooms with a garden and double
bed on the ground floor, and a tatami room above on the 2nd
floor. The tatami room boasts a center table with recessed
floor (horigotatsu). On the generous balcony on the 2nd floor,
a daybed can be enjoyed for reading, cooling off after a warm
bath, or taking in the sea breeze.Bedding for the tatami room
can be provided for up to three guests, making the lofted
room like a second home, ideal for families or large groups.

Niwa-suzumi rooms are intended for two
guests, or up to four guests with extra futons
available upon request.
